2. Set a specific time slot for everything you have to do daily workflow.
It’s easy to get distracted when you have a variety of things to do. Whether you have multiple clients to take care of or your job position requires you to handle different projects, it can help to make a schedule for each particular project or job you need to get done, so that by the end of the day, you’ve accomplished everything you had planned. It’s hard to get that back once you’ve lost it.
4. Do difficult things first of daily workflow.
It’s a known fact that our brain power changes throughout the day. It’s why some people will say, “I’m a morning person!” Yet, others will claim that they work best at night. Typically, many people can do more efficient work in the morning, so if you have a number of projects to get done in a day, consider doing the most difficult assignment first, when you’re bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to tackle the tough stuff.
5. Take breaks. No, really. Do it.
For some, taking a break can seem counterintuitive, but it’s actually great for that brain power we need. While a lunch break is an absolute must and can help you get back to work feeling fresh, the breaks we’re talking about are the ones throughout the work day. For example, maybe you’ve been preparing an important report for about 30 minutes, but you’re starting to feel a bit blank or drowsy. Take a few; whether a few minutes of doing nothing or doing a few stretches. Take a short walk around the block, meditate if that’s your thing, or listen to your favorite song. Then, get back to it. You’ll do better and feel better.
