The Best Anime Shows to Watch on Netflix in July 2020

Netflix in July 2020

Classic anime series like Pokémon, Naruto and Dragon Ball Z were primarily aired on our TV sets. Fast forward to the present time, we get to watch the same classic anime on streaming sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation. However, now streaming giants like Netflix and Hulu have begun to acquire anime series and movies. Another great news is that Netflix even produces Netflix-original anime TV shows and movies alike. While the anime lineup on Netflix in July 2020 might still not be as extensive as the one on Crunchyroll, it’s still a great step forward by the streaming behemoth.

Every year multiple anime titles are added to Netflix. A few are Netflix originals while most of them are licensed by the platform to stream. So which anime are added to the must-watch category Netflix in July 2020? Here are a few!

Violet Evergarden

Kyoto Animation’s aesthetically pleasing anime of the decade, Violet Evergarden has got more than its appealing animation. The anime was greenlit for a Netflix release along with its OVA special. If your go-to anime genres don’t include slice of life and action then Violet Evergarden is a must-watch.

Death Note

Death Note is probably that one anime that lured non-anime fans to becoming anime fanatics. Despite being a mid-2000s anime, Death Note still holds a massive worldwide fan base. So if you’re a budding anime fan who is yet to watch Death Note then the perfect time is now. The anime is available to stream on Netflix in both subbed and dubbed. Watch it before Netflix decides to remove it from its programming!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

The world of magical girls is always filled with magic, joy, and happy endings. But in Puella Magi Madoka Magica? Probably not. The anime is renowned for its slow start yet intense plot twists that unfold with each episode. It’s not your ordinary magical anime but you won’t know what we’re talking about until you watch it yourself.

One Punch Man

All heroes wear capes but not all of them are…bald. One Punch Man brings a comical twist to the world of superheroes. Featuring Saitama, a one-punch wonder part-time hero, who embarks on daily missions to protect his city. Throughout his journey, he makes new friends, some foes and all it takes him is one punch to beat his enemies to a pulp.

Bleach is a childhood favorite of most millennial anime fans. If you missed out on Bleach or are a recent anime watcher, add Bleach to your watch list right away. The anime managed to earn 16 seasons but was cancelled abruptly. The Bleach manga had an unplanned ending and fans weren’t pleased. However, Bleach has been greenlit for a 17th season! Netflix has added 5 seasons to the list and hopefully, all 16 seasons will be available to stream very soon.
